The UK Car Market: How To Buy A Car Cheap

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Face it, cars are one of those things that we have to spend a considerable amount of money on.  That is why there are car loans – not everyone can afford to pay for cars upfront.  In the UK especially, buying a new car can be really expensive.  The government has strict regulations regarding this.  Compared to other countries in Europe, the UK has relatively high prices for cars.  Still, that does not mean that you cannot get an affordable deal when buying a car.

One option when buying a new car would be to buy it from another European country.  Though you may have to pay taxes on it, with the right choice, you may still save several thousand pounds.  If you want to buy within the UK, you can still find good deals.  The key is research.  Look at as many possible options as you can.  The next way to save some money is to be ready to compromise.  That is, be ready to look at other substitutes for the model that you want.  If it is too expensive, then check out something else that would suit your needs and meet your price range as well.

Another tip would be to avoid getting the “Special Editions.”  They may be rarer but they are also a whole lot more expensive.  More often than not, though, the differences are minor.  Ask yourself, is it worth paying all that extra money for different seat covers?
