These past months, all I have been hearing from my little brother is that he wants a new gaming console for Christmas. My sister wants a new gadget. My parents want something new for the house. My partner wants several things – all of them do not come cheaply. While we would want to give what our loved ones are asking for, if we cannot afford them all in one go, isn’t there any alternative that would still make them feel loved this Christmas?
Here are a few Christmas gift ideas that would not bust your budget and yet show your loved ones how much you appreciate them and care for them.
The gift of time
I think this is the most meaningful gift of them all. This is especially true if you don’t see your loved ones a lot during the rest of the year. If I were you, I’d look into activities that they have been wanting to do and arrange a family day with everyone. Or you could set aside a day for several people who have the same interests and spend it with them. This kind of gift is something that will last longer, intangible it may be.
Make a video
Another way to show your love and appreciation for those who matter most to you would be to make them a special homemade video. Show them how you go about your daily life and include scenic places that they have never been to but you know they would love. If you have kids, video tape your kids playing and singing and whatever – the grandparents would surely cherish this!
